    K2 Medical Research is seeking a Special Projects Coordinator for our Orlando, FL clinic. The Special Projects Coordinator is responsible for managing both upcoming and ongoing special projects while tracking key performance indicators (KPIs). This role ensures that all projects align with the philosophy and mission of K2 Medical Research. The Coordinator promotes good clinical practices in clinical investigations by adhering to federal regulations and K2 Medical Research guidelines (SOPs). This includes the enrollment and maintenance of subjects in clinical trials and the meticulous collection, recording, and maintenance of source and sponsor documentation

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Thoroughly understand all assigned studies by reading protocols, attending investigator and start-up meetings, and coordinating with the Principal Investigator.
    • Strictly adhere to study protocols, obtaining exemptions when necessary or appropriate.
    • Communicate and document all pertinent protocol issues to the Principal Investigator and other relevant site personnel (Site Administrator, Director, or Sub-Investigator) through various channels, including email, letters, and meetings.
    • Ensure effective communication flow, including telephone conferences, between patients, study staff, referral sources.
    • Utilize various rating scales to ensure the correct targeted population is identified
    • Perform clinical tasks including, but not limited to, vital signs, height and weight measurements, psychometric testing, ECG, this would be a plus.
    • Maintain timely K2 Medical Research source documentation as well as sponsor-required information.
    • Educate patients and their families regarding their specific study and clinical drug trials in general.
    • Complete all monitor and sponsor queries in a timely manner.
    • Provide appropriate community resource referrals to patients, caretakers, and family members at the conclusion of the patient's participation in the study.
    • Enter all obtained information into appropriate trackers and systems. Perform other tasks assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Learn and support the mission and goals of K2 Medical Research's program.
    • Ability to communicate clearly/effectively (written and oral).
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
    • Must be dependable, responsible & punctual
    • Team player with a positive attitude

    Qualifications:

    • HS Diploma or GED Transcript required. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
    • Prior experience in a clinical environment preferred. Experience in clinical research is ideal.
    • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a clerical or customer service-related position, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Applicants that don't meet 100% of the above qualifications but who have a combination of related education, applicable experience, demonstrated capability, and a genuine passion for success in this position may also be considered.
