  • Responsibilities

    Position Summary: Under the direction of the CFO, the accounting clerk is responsible for compiling amounts owed by the hospital and performs other basic clerical duties associated with the accounting department. The accounting clerk will assist with basic accounting functions as assigned by the CFO which included Accounts Payable for both the hospital and property company.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    · Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.

    · Process check requests, invoices including coding correct account numbers on some of the invoices, verifying taxing and freight charges and reconciling vendor statements to invoices on hand.

    · Selecting account payable invoices for payment based on guidance from the CFO.

    · Generates payable checks and updates the accounts payable system.

    · Scans all invoices into appropriate program.

    · Answers payment inquiries and processes associated correspondence from vendors.

    · Assists in monthly closings.

    · Prepares and processes monthly sales tax reports.

    · Prepares analysis of accounts as required.

    · Orders office supplies and supplies needed for daily use.

    · Liaison between departments and vendors on ensuring competitive pricing for items.

    · Completes credit applications.

    · Responsible for ordering of supplies for hospital and deli food and beverage items.

    · Ensures all checks have appropriate approvals and signatures.

    · Performs other duties as assigned.

    · General Ledger reconciliation.

    · Back up for Payroll.

    · Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualification Requirements:

    Education

    · High School diploma required

    · Post-Secondary education preferred

    Experience

    · Minimum of two years accounts payable experience

    · Computer literacy required

    · Quickbooks
