GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Provides technical sales support to assigned region within the Americas, where clients include a diverse base having industry leading products in medical, automotive, electronics, military and aerospace markets. Collaboratively supports the region's Territory Sales Managers (TSM) and Applications Engineering to progress the TSM's technical service and sales efforts for new and existing customers. Assists in developing new prospects and interacts with existing customers by phone and/or in person to help the TSM increase sales. Supports the coordination of application development activities with TSM, SCS Team members and customer, and assists in the application's development process to achieve the customer's objectives for our products and services. Travel may include other SCS facilities, trade shows and customers within the defined territory. This position serves as a developmental role for future Sales Management, Engineering or Marketing opportunities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports achieving or exceeding supported territory's sales forecast and budget. Functions as a Parylene applications consultant for pending new and existing customers. Present in the coating facility to manage the transition of the customer's application requirements to engineering. Assists the mobilization of the necessary resources (materials, personnel, equipment, etc.) to support successful application of SCS' products on the customer's product(s). Participates in initial screening of incoming sales leads received by phone, email, tradeshows, etc. Helps identify applicable contacts at targeted customers. Qualifies, packages and then uploads new opportunity leads for hand off to the TSM. Supports and assists marketing activities (trade shows, webinars, etc.) on as needed basis. In support of the TSM, develops a strong partnership with Marketing for understanding customer needs, defining product/service offering and means to establish contacts at new customers. Supports subvertical account penetration strategy with TSM and Marketing team. Stays up-to-date of changes and developments in the field through training, reading, researching, classes and seminars, and in discussions with other SCS departments. Develops technical understanding of the business which allows them to support resolution of field problems and to become a resource for customer's needs. Professionally represents SCS values, products, services and capabilities. Supports business interactions using ethical business practices.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in hosting potential customers at the applicable Coating Center Learns, uses and maintains SCS' lead management system, Opportunity Tracking Database (OTD). Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies. Follows guidelines in Company Vehicle Use Policy. Supports content for reports, business correspondence, and sales updates to executive staff. May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs. Travel in region and SCS facilities is estimated at up to 25% of time.
