    Job Description

    SUMMARY

    Spectape is a converter and distributor of pressure sensitive tapes and has been supplying industrial tapes for more than 50 years. We are seeking an Outside Sales Representative to sell our products to manufacturing companies in Chicago and the surrounding area. The sales representative will be responsible for growing business with existing customers and prospecting for new customers. Compensation package will consist of a base salary plus commission.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Identify and call on new prospects to increase sales.
    • Communicate with existing customers and manage accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and increase sales.
    • Develop expert knowledge of the Spectape's product line and converting capabilities.
    • Create quotations.
    • Deliver samples.
    • Interface with in-house, support personnel to effectively communicate customer’s product and service needs.
    • Schedule appointments and travel to customer and prospect facilities within the sales territory.
    • Advise customers regarding product improvements, cost reduction opportunities, and price changes.
    • Establish strong working relationships with customers and prospects.
    • Develop extensive knowledge of the market within the assigned sales territory. This should include the size of the market, the capabilities and strategies of competitors, and market pricing.
    • Recommend appropriate pricing to maintain business or gain market share.
    • Keep CRM database updated with customer/prospect contact history. Schedule tasks that need to be completed.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • 2+ years of Outside Sales experience. (B2B experience preferred.)
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
    • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
    • Excellent organization, time management and planning skills. Ability to work independently. Attention to details. Ability to cold call and develop new accounts. Ability to grow existing accounts. Problem solving skills. Must have good oral and written communication skills as well as good listening skills. Capable of selling to manufacturing and other industrial companies. Competitive nature.
