    ELECTRICAL GRADUATE ENGINEER - MADISON, WISCONSIN

    WESTWOOD PROFESSIONAL SERVICES, INC. is seeking a Electrical Graduate Engineer to join our team in our Madison, Wisconsin office. This new team member will join our Electrical Engineering group for solar, wind or energy storage plants, which includes; plant layout, selecting appropriate system hardware, system optimization, power production modeling, and interconnection requirements for projects. This individual will support senior designers and engineers in the preparation of construction documents. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and looking to join a supportive and collaborative team.     WHAT YOU WILL DO:

     

    • Construction document production support.
    • Coordinate with various design team disciplines in multiple offices including surveyors, civil and geotechnical engineers.
    • Strong experience using Autocad to create construction documents and perform quantity takeoffs. Construction documents will include site layouts, wire/cable routing plans, onelines, details, equipment/wire schedules etc.
    • Create wiring/cable schedules based on takeoffs and sizing input from senior designers and engineers.
    • Maintain proficiency and knowledge of Westwood design/CAD standards.

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD. 
    • Bachelor's, Associates Degree, or Technical School Certificate in Electrical Design, Solar Design, Architectural/Engineering Drafting, or related degree.
    • Approximately 2 - 5 years of experience in the drafting/design of electrical power/distribution systems.
    • Experience and knowledge of basic electrical design concepts.
    • Strong working knowledge and ability to read constructions drawings and specifications.
    • Must be self-motivated with an ability to balance multiple projects at one time under tight deadlines.
    • Proficiency with MS Suite/Office products.
    • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.

     

     

    PREFERRED CONSIDERATION BUT NOT REQUIRED:

    • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS.
    • Proficiency with ETAP, SKM, CYME, or similar software package used to model electrical power systems and perform load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, grounding, thermal, and protective device coordination studies and analysis.
    • NABCEP Certification.
    • Experience with PVsyst, Helioscope, SAM, or other PV modeling software a plus.
    • Experience with Helioscope 3D.

  • Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and or Six Sigma (Minimum Green Belt Six Sigma Certified, Black Belt Preferred)
    • Experience operating Romer, Faro, or other types of CMM’s for machined parts
    • Ability to generate FAI reports for machined parts and assemblies
    • Certified Quality Inspector preferred
    • Understanding of ISO 9000, AS 9100, AS9120, AS9101, etc. implementation
    • Proficiency using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
    • Excellent communicator both verbally and written
    • Highly detail-oriented
