    Job Description

    Position: Assistant Controller Department: Accounting Reports To: Controller

    SUMMARY:

    Responsible for administration, preparation, management, and analysis of HOA resort financials, owner records, owner accounting, audits and overseeing daily accounting functions. Works closely with Controller, resort managers and general manager to assist them in identifying optimum ways to drive revenues while balancing expenses.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Bank reconciliation for rental escrow. Performs GL, JE and other reconciliations as needed.

    Preparation and submission of Lodging, Sales, Rental and Use tax returns.

    Setup of ownership transfers in accounting software and verify new owner set up.

    Software administrator for Yardi and other systems as assigned. Reconciliation of software system interfaces. Accounting lead for POS software installations and changes.

    EFT processing and maintain banking information for rental owners.

    Review of daily deposits.

    Researching and preparing chargeback responses.

    Supervise Accounting team to include evaluations, discipline, scheduling, payroll, and interviewing prospective new hires. Prepare Night Audit team rotation schedule.

    Review POS folios to include researching/correcting issues and performing system reconcile transactions each month.

    Approve invoice payments.

    Research and correct credit card issues to include POS, Front Desk and any other credit card disputes.

    Worker Compensation Audit team lead.

    Maintain ATM at sister property.

    Assist the Corporate Controller as needed.

    Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

    QUALIFICATIONS: · Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting.

    · Five or more years experience in Accounting. Knowledgeable in all areas of accounting from A/P, A/R, General Ledger, Credit Collections, Audit, Payroll, Budgeting, Forecasting, Costing, P&L preparation and analysis. Prior Yardi/POS knowledge preferred.

    · Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs to include Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. Ability to use/learn property specific programs.

    · Excellent hospitality skills

    · Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as financial documents, tax court rulings, financial and payroll codes, technical documents and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and follow up with requests daily. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and maintain a professional image and demeanor while on or off property representing Spectrum Resorts.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
