Job Description

Spectrum Software Technology (SST) is currently seeking a highly motivated Sr System Test Engineer for its civil aviation programs. The position requires a BS in Engineering, Comp Sci, Business, Economics or related fields and 15+ years of relevant experience. Will substitue degree for additional experience. Must have previous FAA experience. This position is located at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s William J. Hughes Technical Center adjacent to the Atlantic City International Airport, New Jersey. (Temporarily Remote)

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs formal system testing activities for a particular project or subset of a larger project under supervision of more experienced personnel. Performs analysis of documented user requirements and directs or assists in the design of test plans in support of user requirements. Participates in all phases of risk management assessment and system development. Responsible for ensuring that the test design and documentation support all applicable clients, agency or industry standards, timelines and budgets. Responsible for ensuring test conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results

Experience:

• Data automation/data integration experience with FAA systems.
• Experience applying T&E principles stated in the WJHTC T&E Handbook.
• Generating test planning documents: Test and Evaluation Master Plan, Test Plans and Reports.
• Creation of Verification Requirements Traceability Matrix identifying requirements allocated to test phases
• Creation of Test Procedures to verify requirements
• Experience in conduct of Development Test and Operational Test
• Technical review and preparation of comments and responses to vendor test documentation.
• Ability to lead a test team, working in a fast paced environment.
• Coordinate and execute Test Plans and Test Procedures to verify and validate contract and operational requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred • Requires minimum 15-years relevant experience • previous FAA systems experience • Planning and technical writing experience • Knowledge of FAA T&E Handbook or Gold Standard is helpful • Good verbal and written communication skills • Professional attitude • Must be US Citizen or Green Card hold
