Job Description
Position Title: Communication Paraprofessional
Department: Special Education
Reports To: Speech-Language Pathologist
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview: The Communication Paraprofessional will support speech and language therapy services utilizing the Amplio Speech digital platform under the supervision of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs). They will manage daily operations of student therapy sessions, ensuring efficient, effective, and compliant service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to students in accessing and completing individualized speech therapy sessions via Amplio Speech on Chromebooks.
Manage and maintain therapy schedules for assigned student caseload.
Prepare therapy session materials, devices, and classroom settings.
Assist in pulling reports from the Amplio Speech platform.
Ensure equipment (Chromebooks, headsets, internet connectivity) is functional and ready for daily use.
Support students receiving compensatory services by coordinating additional therapy session times as directed.
Maintain confidentiality of student records and personal information at all times.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication Disorders, or related field preferred.
Experience working with children in educational or therapeutic settings.
Familiarity with educational technology platforms; comfort in using Chromebooks and digital learning tools.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to move around the campus frequently.
Occasional lifting of materials and technology equipment (up to 25 lbs).
