    SPEECH THERAPIST/SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (ST PRN) PER DIEM

    This position does not need to regularly be in the office, but will require a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a reliable personal automobile for local travel to provide care to clients in the Denton, Texas area.

    Job Summary: Qualicare is looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Speech Pathologist to join our team! As a Speech Pathologist, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care, promoting speech function, and enhancing overall health and well-being.

    Responsibilities: ● Evaluating levels of swallowing, speech and language difficulty ● Identifying treatment options ● Creating and carrying out individualized treatment plans addressing specific functional needs ● Teaching patients how to make sounds while improving their voices and maintaining fluency ● Helping individuals improve sentence structure and vocabulary used in written and oral language ● Working with adults and children in developing and strengthening muscles used to swallow ● Timely and accurate documentation

    Skills:

    ● Initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment ● Familiarity with Oasis and start of care documentation ● Strong communication and interpersonal skills ● Interpreting assessment/diagnostic data including medical notes and surgery reports ● Ensuring medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately ● Promoting continuous quality improvement ● Instructing and counseling patients and families as needed ● Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently ● Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of the organization

    QUALIFICATIONS: ● Master's Degree Speech Language Pathology Required Or Other Post-Baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Required ● Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) ● State license as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Texas through TDLR ● Minimum one year experience in a home healthcare setting ● Ability to provide patient care in a variety of settings, including home community care. ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. ● A passion for delivering high-quality patient care and a commitment to ongoing professional development. ● Strong knowledge of medical terminology and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. ● Experience with case management and patient service. ● Experience working with patients with a range of diagnoses. ● A commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay current with best practices.
