About D1 Training Staten Island
D1 Training Staten Island is a premier performance facility where every client is trained and treated like an elite athlete. Our coaches are responsible for delivering the BEST workouts in the country to clients ranging from 7-year-olds all the way to adults. D1 provides custom sports training programs integrating sports therapy and cutting-edge coaching in a motivating, high-energy environment.
Position Overview
The Speed and Strength Coach is responsible for leading and instructing group training classes as well as personal training. The Coach is the front-line customer experience and must be able to coach a 7-year-old all the way to an adult. If you have a big personality, loud vocals, high energy, and a passion for developing athletes, this is your home.
Major Role and Activity Focus
80% — Coaching Group Training Sessions: Lead clients through workouts with high energy, loud vocal skills, and great coaching points. Organize the groups, be motivating and positive to all clients. Must oversee MUSIC.
10% — Member Retention and Free Trial Assessments: Under the direction of the Head Speed and Strength Coach, assist in leading clients through a Free Trial Assessment (FTA) and placing them in the right group. Responsible for retaining clients through follow-up calls and facility programs.
5% — Specialty Events: Lead and assist with specialty camps, combines, and marketing events.
5% — Additional Duties: Training area cleaning, maintenance, and equipment upkeep.

Qualifications
Nationally Recognized and Accredited Certification required: NSCA, NASM, ACSM, or ACE
2+ years in training groups
Great communication skills — Big Personality with High Energy
Knowledge of workouts and exercise terminology
Prior personal training experience working with clients
Looks the PART of an athlete
Baseline proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a strong plus
Compensation
Base salary of $38,000 – $48,000 per year depending on experience and certifications. Benefits include a complimentary D1 membership and employee discounts on merchandise.
