Job Description: Schnabel Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Senior Dam Engineer with over 10 years of expertise in dam engineering disciplines such as hydrology, hydraulics, geotechnical engineering, or structural engineering. The position is based in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX, and offers an engaging work environment with opportunities for professional development and growth. The successful candidate will contribute to dam engineering projects, providing technical oversight, managing client relationships, and actively participating in business development.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide engineering expertise and manage dam engineering projects, including inspection, investigation, evaluation, design, and construction of dams, reservoirs, and hydraulic structures.

Prepare and review design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications.

Manage client relationships and proactively identify and pursue dam engineering business opportunities.

Develop engineering proposals and qualification statements.

Perform project management activities, including planning, delegating work, managing budgets, invoicing, and reporting backlog.

Collaborate with other Schnabel offices to balance workload effectively.

Supervise and mentor junior engineers.

Required Skills/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from an ABET-accredited program.

10+ years of relevant experience in hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, geotechnical, and/or structural engineering, with a focus on dam design.

Licensed Professional Engineer in one or more states, with the ability to seek reciprocity in TX upon employment.

Proficiency in computer-aided analysis and modeling programs relevant to dam engineering.

Experience in preparing and reviewing construction drawings and technical specifications.

Knowledge of state and federal dam safety design methodologies, policies, and regulations.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Strong work ethic and a commitment to professional excellence.
