Job Description:
We are seeking a Construction Lab Technician to join our construction materials testing and inspection team in support of several dam rehabilitation projects located in the southern Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This is a full-time employment position with at least 40 hours per week for a construction duration of approximately 12 to 18 months, with potential to grow into a longer term position. Additional hours depend on workload and the candidate’s availability. Travel or transfer to other projects within the US many be available when this project is completed and if both parties agree.

Job Responsibilities:
Primary job responsibility will be operating Schnabel’s construction materials testing laboratory located in Waxahachie, Texas under direct supervision/training and by following detailed controlled procedures.
Performing geotechnical lab testing including Atterberg Limits, Sieve Analyses, Moisture Contents, Moisture-Density Relationships, and Lime Series
Performing concrete lab testing including Compressive Strength Testing
Calculating and compiling test results, data input, and data processing
Interpreting and referencing testing requirements from construction drawings and specifications
Communicating test results effectively to the project team
Calibrating laboratory equipment and maintaining calibration schedule and records
Cleaning and maintaining laboratory in compliance with project requirements and other accreditation requirements
Assisting with field work and other laboratory functions when needed
Required Skills/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate’s Degree in an Engineering, Environment or Science related program is preferred, but not required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat software
Excellent communication skills
Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
Positive attitude
Strong work ethic and a desire to learn
Ability to routinely lift up to 40 pounds
Prior construction lab and/or field technician experience is preferred, but not required.
Relevant NICET, ACI or TxDOT certifications are preferred, but not required.
Other Requirements:
Ability to pass a background check.
Ability to pass a pre-employment employment drug screening.
