    Quality Control Technician - Electrical Panels and Instruments

    Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled Quality Control Technician with expertise in electrical wiring, fabrication, and testing of control panels under UL 508A & 698A standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of instrument and control systems, including transmitters, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and instrument loops (4-20mA). The role involves working with various PLC logic and software platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Motorola.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Execute Quality Control inspections and testing of in-house fabricated instruments and control panels, ensuring compliance with UL 508A & 698A standards.

    Proficiently use electrical test equipment and tools for testing both DC and AC up to 480 volts.

    Verify the Bill of Materials for accuracy and conduct visual checks on panels being tested in-house.

    Electronically test and trace all wire origins and designations for accuracy, ensuring correct wire tags.

    Power up and test 120 VAC, 24VDC, and 480V voltage electrical systems, adhering to OSHA and NEC electrical safety practices.

    Work overtime or weekends when required, based on production and shipping schedules.

    Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the panel shop.

    Demonstrate ability and dexterity in working with duct covers and cabinets to manipulate wires.

    Utilize basic email and MS Office products, along with other applications as needed.

    Strictly adhere to safety and environmental rules and regulations to ensure employee and public safety.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Education/Experience:

    Associate Degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent from a two-year college, technical school, or military technician preferred.
