    Job Title: Manager of Operations Measures / Senior Manager of Operations Measures

    Department: Network Strategy, Design and Innovation

    Summary:

    The Manager of Operations Measures / Senior Manager of Operations Measures plays a critical leadership role in managing analyses and performance management initiatives for the Network Strategy, Design and Innovation department. This position is responsible for providing senior management with performance metrics, recommendations to improve productivity, and business performance analysis. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing performance reporting systems, analytical techniques, and metric applications for rail operations, supporting and Network Strategy, Design and Innovation long-term initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Provide analytical support to Network Strategy, Design, Innovation, and Transportation leaders on key operating topics, such as train, yard, and block volume changes, car velocity and utilization, terminal and train operational performance, and blocking integrity.

    Offer support and expertise in ongoing data and systems transformations across internal, customer-facing, and regulatory-required platforms.

    Conduct timely analyses and deliver clear communication of complex material.

    Aid in the modernization of metrics, tools, and reports as new data sources are implemented (e.g., TSS 2.0).

    Required Skills and Abilities:

    Ability to work independently and drive analyses and projects to conclusion.

    Proficient data analysis skills.

    Capability to structure and deliver presentations at all levels, internally and externally.

    Basic Qualifications:

    Advanced analytical skills with the ability to carry out self-directed analysis.

    Ability to extract, manipulate, and analyze information using multiple data platforms.

    Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).

    Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

    Familiarity and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of tools.

    Ability to write and understand structured query language (SQL).

    Working knowledge of one or more software products & languages (SAS, Python, Tableau, Power BI) for prototyping and developing reports and predictive analytical tools.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in analytics, business, or a related field.

    Demonstrated experience with all stages of the machine learning project life cycle.

    Knowledge of deep learning model building and implementation.

    Working knowledge of BNSF measurement systems and reports (DPR, SCORE, Corporate Dashboard, Terminal Dashboard, NOC Dashboard, etc.).
