What is the opportunity?

The role involves designing the structural components of residential wood structures (and masonry structures in specific regions), producing repair details, and mentoring Structural EITs. The candidate will verify the structural integrity of work, seal structural plans, details, and repairs as needed, and collaborate with architectural staff and other departments.

What are the primary responsibilities?

Engineering calculations

Preparing repair details/letters

Reviewing design/calculations of Structural EIT’s

Site visits and meetings with building officials

Code research

Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of residential wood design and construction

Do you have these qualifications?

Essential:

PE License

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Architectural, or Structural Engineering

Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience

Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, and applicable building codes

Preferred:

Ability to mentor

Good communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
