    Job Description: Quality Control Technician (UL 508A & 698A Standards)

    Summary: We are seeking a meticulous Quality Control Technician with expertise in inspecting and testing in-house fabricated Instruments and Control Panels, ensuring compliance with UL 508A & 698A standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of electrical wiring, fabrication, and testing, coupled with knowledge of instrument and control systems, PLC logic, and various software platforms. This role requires proficiency in using electrical test equipment, verifying Bill of Materials, and maintaining a commitment to safety and environmental regulations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Conduct quality control inspections and testing of control panels under UL 508A & 698A standards.

    Demonstrate expertise in electrical wiring, fabrication, and testing of both DC and AC systems up to 480 volts.

    Understand and work with instrument and control systems, including transmitters, PLCs, and instrument loops (4-20mA).

    Proficient in PLC logic and software platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Motorola for I/O testing.

    Utilize electrical test equipment and tools for accurate inspections and testing.

    Visual verification of Bill of Materials for tested panels, ensuring accuracy.

    Trace wire origins and designations electronically, verifying correct wire tags.

    Power up and test electrical systems at various voltage levels (120 VAC, 24VDC, 480V) in adherence to safety practices.

    Maintain cleanliness in the panel shop and adhere to safety and environmental regulations.

    Work overtime or weekends as needed based on production and shipping schedules.

    Demonstrate basic proficiency in email, MS Office products, and other relevant applications.

    Possess the ability to work with duct covers and cabinets to manipulate wires.

    Exhibit a strong commitment to safety and environmental rules and regulations.

    Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Education/Experience:

    Associate Degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent from a two-year college, technical school, or military technician preferred.
