Sphere Recruitment Solutions is hiring a 2nd Class CSU Operator to join a reputable company for the startup and commissioning of the Great Plains Power Station in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
In this role, you will be responsible for the operation of the combined cycle power plant. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating gas turbines, HRSG, steam turbines, and other power plant systems and equipment, including Siemens gas turbines.
Responsibilities:
- coordinate plant startup activities, including the initial startup activities - flushing, blowing, and steam blows of piping systems
- coordinate the valve lineup of each system
- coordinate functional tests with CSU disciplines, verifying critical interlocks
- record as-built engineering changes on drawings, ensuring proper setup and testing of mechanical equipment - verifying mechanical equipment is operating at system design requirements
- coordinate mechanical fitter and millwright activities
- track, record, and report progress on assigned systems
- provide hands-on training to operator staff
- record system progress and completion for plant turnover documentation
Qualifications:
- Have an Alberta or Saskatchewan Class II Boiler Operator License
- Minimum of 10 years of startup experience for a similar facility, ideally with supervisory experience
- Ability to manage multiple systems and startups
- excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
The 2nd Class Operator role is a site-based position and will operate on a 10/4 schedule with travel paid to and from your place of residence once a month + a daily LOA.
