Spherion is seeking an energetic Staffing Recruiter to join their team! This is a full-time position with Monday-Friday 8am-5pm schedule and a rotating on-call weekend each month. The Recruiter will take part in all aspects of recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and employee management process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answering phones using standard company greeting in a friendly and professional manner; identifying reason for calling; assisting with conducting pre-screening interviews, scheduling interviews, answering various questions and concerns about employment, etc.
- Scheduling appointments for interviews including adding them to the Google calendar and sharing with co-workers.
- Recruiting candidates for open positions using various systems and software: company's software, Michigan Talent, Zip Recruiter, Indeed, Facebook Business, Career Builder, etc.
- Interviewing, taking sufficient notes based on information gathered, and determining whether candidates will fit company's client base.
- Drug screening in-house for every candidate (urinalysis or oral) and conducting reference calls after each interview (a minimum of 2 each).
- Following hiring process according to company and governmental standards, resolving hiring issues.
- Communicating with candidates and clients
- Filling out employment verifications as they come through from DHS and various other sources.
- Filing and regular scanning of drug screens and various other paperwork in a regular and efficient manner
- Maintaining an organized work space and office by removing/ shredding any unnecessary debris and paperwork that may contain applicant's personal information and putting everything else in its corresponding place.
- Attending job fairs and assisting with set-up of table or booth; interacting with job fair guest to educate them on the services that the company offers and gathering resumes for possible follow-up later.
- Conducting client site safety surveys as needed and directing with attention to possible hazards or prohibited tasks.
- Meeting with employees to fill out Worker's Compensation paperwork as needed and following through to ensure the best possible care is provided to employees
- Ensuring that employees are hired and that they are assigned to appropriate work orders in the system to maintain 100% compliance.
- Entering payroll hours as needed each week while documenting any absent hours.
- Assisting with posting jobs each week to various sources.
- Assisting with social media postings to various accounts.
- Various other responsibilities as needed and directed.
SKILLS:
- Previous work experience in customer service, preferably in an office setting
- Familiarity with multiline phone systems
- Excellent computer skills including ability to learn new software and programs
- MS Office skills
- Ability to multitask and follow through to ensure business is taken care of by the end of each day
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A well-versed background in customer service is desired
- Previous experience in Human Resources, recruiting, or other related fields is a plus
- Knowledge of labor and employment laws
- Ability to build rapport with all employees and clients
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask as needed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
