Spherion has an immediate direct hire Engineering Technician opportunity in the Lafayette, LA area. The Engineering Technician is primarily responsible for supporting activities related to product development and lifecycle management. This position will provide assistance to the Manufacturing, Service, and Sales departments by providing timely solutions under the guidance of their supervisor.

Schedule: M-F 8:00am-5:00pm Pay: $45-48K annually

Responsibilities:

• Create and Update Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Detail drawings of new parts and assemblies
• Revise drawings according to changes in methods of manufacturing, or
• Log and distribute Request for Engineering Action (REA's) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN's)
• Interface between Manufacturing and Engineering departments
• Assist in assembly and testing for prototype equipment and major changes, when necessary
• Answer Sales questions regarding legacy products

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and Lean, Rapid & Profitable new product development principles would be an asset
• Experience in oilfield related manufacturing would be an asset

Required Skills:

• Minimum 2 years Technical Degree or equivalent
• Minimum 1-year experience in component design
• Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and PDM preferred, alternative similar products considered
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
