Spherion is looking for a Shipping Coordinator for a company located in Lafayette, LA. This is a temp to hire position. Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 5:00PM Pay $17 - $19 / hour

Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities:

• Process orders according to established protocols
• Proactively execute tasks with precision and independence
• Coordinate shipments to customers, both domestically and internationally
• Maintain records of shipment traceability

Accountabilities:

• Ensure accurate recording of shipment traceability within the ERP system and timely reporting to relevant stakeholders
• Provide managers with timely and accurate data as required
• Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to work overtime when necessary
• Undertake physical tasks, such as picking and packing (comprising 80% of responsibilities), alongside computer-based duties like transfers and CIPL creation (constituting 20%)
• Perform additional tasks, including wood measuring and cutting for blocking/bracing capital equipment, utilizing tools like a miter saw

Working hours: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:

• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a logistics role is preferred

• Possession of certificate(s) in International Transportation/Logistics is considered beneficial

• Experience in international shipping is preffered

Education: High School

Experience: 1-4 years

Qualifications: Knowledge & Competencies:

• Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and foster positive working relationships
• Display adeptness at multitasking and taking initiative
• Possess the ability to stand for extended periods
• Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities

Education & Experience:

• Prior experience operating a forklift
• High School Diploma
