    Job description

    We are looking for a Controls Engineer for a Direct Hire opportunity with a great client.

    Summary/Purpose

    Provide technological advances and project management to improve manufacturing as it relates to electrical controls, production management, machine networking and equipment reliability.

    Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

    • Write, modify and troubleshoot programming of PLCs and HMIs for manufacturing and facility equipment.
    • Collaborate with intercompany and external resources to repair or upgrade equipment as it relates to electrical controls, machine networking, and component obsolescence.
    • Collaborate with local and intercompany information technology and process improvement groups to improve production reporting, product traceability and quality records.
    • Provide project management for equipment installations, facility rearrangement, energy savings projects and safety improvements.
    • Provide periodic support as lead or team member for service contracts like air compressor maintenance, HVAC maintenance and mobile equipment.

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Proven experience with writing PLC programs and troubleshooting PLCs.
    • Ability to create electrical schematics and facility layouts in AutoCAD.
    • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills, able to work well under pressure and manage several tasks simultaneously.
    • Self-directed to complete essential job duties and projects on schedule.
    • Experience working in teams and communicating effectively through writing, presentation, graphs and proposal reports.
    • Must enjoy challenges and meet planned deadlines. Have an interest to grow in expertise of IoT.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or Computer Engineering.
    • Equivalent experience with technical degree will be considered.

    Work Environment/Physical Demands:

    • The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection and slip resistant safety toe shoes.
    • Arc Flash PPE is required when opening equipment electrical panels for access to PLCs or for testing.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
