    Key to our vision is developing a real time enabled pipeline that brings intimacy back to the animation process while pushing the creative envelope. Our team has worked on many of the earliest and most successful 3D animated films, and have experienced firsthand the exponential increase in visual complexity and crew sizes as narrative appetite and audience expectations have grown. GPU accelerated rendering and game engines unlock new workflows that can upend long held assumptions underpinning the assembly line approach of legacy studios.

    THE JOB

    The Software Engineer will help establish a new generation of workflows and data pipeline for high-end animation production. We are redefining the process of animation production to amore collaborative and iterative approach that will depend on a rock solid data and pipeline foundation. You will work with our technical and creative leads to help design and engineer a novel pipeline. The Software Engineer will be part of a small initial team with lots of room to grow, learn, and have real impact.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collaborate with our engineering and artistic teams to identify and implement the most optimal workflows for film production.

    • Build efficient data pipelines that can handle the scale and complexity of animation production.

    • Integrate pipeline workflows with the cloud infrastructure.

    • Take a hands-on approach in architecting, writing, and reviewing code.

    • Proactively identify & recommend improvements to address systemic pain points.

    • Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the

      organization innovate and excel.

    • Follow software best practices to ensure code quality, performance, and reliability.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Experience writing plugins in C++ and Python for major Digital Content Creation (DCC)tools like Autodesk Maya, Houdini, Unreal Engine, Nuke.

    • 5+ years experience in a Software Engineer role or related position.

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields; Master’s degree

      a plus.

    • Deep understanding of production pipeline in context of Animation/VFX film production.

    • Familiarity with data formats, structures, and algorithms for representing CG scenes including geometry, transforms, materials, and lighting.

    • Skilled at creating artist friendly workflows and user-interfaces.

    • Experience with open-source technology and software/tools.

    • Experience working with agile software development methodology.

    • Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on

      completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace.

    • Experience working in a studio/production environment as a TD, Software Engineer, or

      artist.
