We are interviewing for a full-time ESG/GHG Project Consultant (Level 2) at our Houston or Denver location. Candidates should have approximately 3-5 years of professional experience including at least a year in greenhouse gas accounting, ESG strategy, sustainability planning or related work. Candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered for Project Consultant (Level 1) roles as available.
This position is anticipated to support GHG inventory and assurance work for companies and municipalities, ESG strategy development and reporting, and specific client support on individual reduction and quantification projects. Successful candidates will pair technical savvy related to data management and project implementation with expertise in carbon auditing and accounting, familiarity with ESG frameworks, and the ability to think both creatively and in a focused way to successfully support multiple projects at once.
Position Overview
Spirit’s sustainability team is growing, and we are looking to add a Project Consultant to our collaborative and forward-thinking office culture. Our current workload is tilted towards making a significant impact in the traditional energy sector, ranging from exploration and production operators through all aspects of the oil and gas supply chain. As an accredited MIQ auditing firm, Spirit is looking for this position to be capable of supporting gas certification efforts, both gap analyses and certification audits, and to be willing to become familiar with the various standards relating to methane intensity and quantification. Additional offerings that would be supported include third party GHG assurance in line with ISO 14064-3 (or equivalent), strategic emissions reduction plans, and complete scope 1-3 build-ups of inventories and internal protocols.
As our client base continues to expand beyond traditional energy, we are looking to leverage experiences and lessons learned from these sectors with experience in more traditional sustainability services to offer complete solutions that are technically strong, and implementation focused. Our goal is to provide comprehensive GHG reduction and ESG strategy support for clients from strategic planning through project implementation and annual reporting/assurance. This includes working with corporate partners in various sectors, municipal governments, real estate services, and other types of institutions with significant environmental footprints. We are also able and willing to grow new service lines that align with staff experience and passion with an eye towards strategic expansions and future growth markets.
