    VFX Artist 

    Are you a master of kinetic animations that leap off the screen? Can you produce violent explosions, fierce lightning, and mysterious magical energies? Do you feel passionate about injecting the player experience with engaging visual effects that grab the user by the eyeballs and don't let go?

    Splinterlands is looking for a VFX Artist who is capable of creating high quality, performance visuals for gameplay and multimedia. Candidates must show proficiency in software applications that can be utilized to produce both 2D and 3D exports for web and a variety of platforms/formats.

    You will work closely with creatives from Art, Animation, and Multimedia to create top tier storytelling and battle scenarios that make the entire game come ALIVE! Since our current game is based on 2D web technology, it is important that all exports are optimized to load quickly and can display efficiently via JavaScript or embedded web player. As we expand to additional platforms and solutions, it is helpful to have an understanding of alternative 3D tools and methods.

    Things You'll Do:

    • Conceptualize, design, and create cutting-edge special effects based on sprite sheets or web player integrations
    • Take direction and feedback from leads and supervisors  
    • Work with producer, lead artists and supervisors to track and manage the workflow through the departments
    • Manage edits along with the art/animation department
    • Manage edits along with the multimedia department

    Things You Need:

    • At least 4 years professional VFX experience in the Gaming or Animation industries
    • Strong proficiency with 2D Effects software such as Adobe Animate and Spine
    • Amazing Portfolio 
    • Manage edits along with the editorial department
    • Strong visual awareness and artistic ability
    • Strong Interpersonal Skills 
    • Strong Expertise in 2D Animation methods
    • The ability to work as part of a team as well as alone
    • Ability to interpret feedback and use your artistic eye to make improvements

    Bonus Points:

    • Knowledge of 3D animation software such as Houdini, Maya, 3Ds Max, Cinema 4D
    • Proficiency with Unity
    • Knowledge of VFX compositing Software such as Nuke, Fusion, and AfterEffects
    • Expertise with particle effects, dynamic simulations, and shader effects
