    Job Title: DIRECTOR OF MANAINTENANCE Division/Department: ADMINSTRATION Reports To: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the general management of SporTran's Maintenance Department, including the hiring, training and supervision of shop foremen, mechanics, cleaners, utility workers and support staff. Plans, organizes, supervises, and maintains a high quality maintenance, repair, inspection and preventative maintenance program for company fleet of 100+ vehicles including 35 & 40ft buses; paratransit; on-demand; and support vehicles, buildings; CNG Fueling Station; grounds and equipment including bus shelters and 1500+ stops. Develops, and implements policies and procedures for bus and vehicle repairs, cleaning, servicing, maintenance training, and related operation activities; Develops, implements and oversees maintenance employee training program. Works with management to develop department budget; recommends capital improvements including preparation of equipment specifications, and prepares specifications for all materials and supplies subject to bid. Participates in regularly evaluating departmental/company hiring practices and implements strategies to address underutilization. Properly identify EEO related issues, addresses and/or reports discriminatory actions witnessed. " Plans, directs and coordinates all activities of the Maintenance Department. " Develops maintains and administers a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all vehicles, buildings and grounds. Coordinates and monitors scheduled inspections, repairs and maintenance for compliance. " Directs and coordinates work assignments of administrative support staff employees, shop foreman and all employees engaged in servicing and repair of the company vehicle fleet, equipment, maintaining and repairing physical structures of building, bus shelters and stops and maintaining the grounds. " Develops, maintains, and manages company's fleet replacement schedule program for all of its vehicles and makes recommendations to management of fleet replacement needs. " Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions and includes appropriate people in decision-making process. " Insures compliance with all local, federal and state laws and regulations related to the maintenance and repair of vehicles are met. " Insures shop and vehicle safety practices are followed. " Works with management to develop department annual operating and capital budget. Develops and implements, cost saving measures. Monitors, records and maintains report of expenses and analyzes purchase and repair cost to control expenditures to stay within budget. DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES " Knowledge of RTA Fleet Management Software " Intermediate MS office suite skills " Type 50 words per minute " Ten key 150 characters per minute " Have above average math skills " Ability to recognize patterns in spreadsheets and databases " Candidates that are interviewed will perform a ten key and typing test to verify skill levels " Ability to interact in a positive manner within a strongly diverse workforce. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS " College Degree or its equivalent " MUST be able to walk, kneel, bend, push and/or pull to complete moderate to heavy lifting when necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
