Job Summary
The Sports Instructor is responsible for managing and leading their assigned field or court while delivering a fun, safe, and well-organized experience for all participants. This role plays a key part in bringing the i9 Sports mission to life—Helping Kids Succeed in Life Through Sports®—by supporting volunteer coaches, engaging with families, and ensuring a positive game day environment.
Responsibilities
Take ownership of an assigned field or court, ensuring a safe, organized, and positive environment
Support volunteer coaches with practices, drills, and game management
Ensure all practices and games start and end on time
Set up and break down fields/courts, ensuring equipment is safe and ready for play
Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for players, coaches, and parents
Promote and model i9 Sports core values: fun, safety, and good sportsmanship
Provide guidance and encouragement to volunteer coaches throughout the day
Help create a low-pressure, instructional environment focused on player development
Monitor gameplay to ensure safety and fairness
Communicate with the Site Manager regarding any issues or updates
Qualifications
Energetic, reliable, and positive attitude
Strong communication and customer service skills
Comfortable working with children ages 3–15
Ability to work weekends
Interest in sports, coaching, or youth development preferred
Experience working with children or in team environments is a plus
