    Job Title: Sports Summer Camp Instructor Supervisor: Director of Operations & the Youth Programming Manager Status: Hourly Position, All Summer Long

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Southeast Iowa Sports Center is seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as Sports Summer Camp Instructors. This is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in working with youth, gaining leadership experience, and sharing a love of sports and recreation. While no high school diploma is required, applicants should demonstrate a passion for working with kids and a willingness to contribute to a positive camp environment.

    Hours: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (morning & afternoon session) with additional opportunities to assist with early drop-off and late pick-up as needed.

    Responsibilities

    Arrive on time for each shift and stay until your replacement arrives or check-out is complete.

    Lead sport-based activities and recreational games for daily camp groups.

    Assist the Camp Supervisor in ensuring the safety and well-being of all campers.

    Exhibit self-motivation, energy, and flexibility in daily responsibilities and camper interactions.

    Maintain a positive and professional attitude while engaging with campers, co-workers, and supervisors.

    Collaborate effectively with other instructors and camp staff to create a successful team environment.

    Communicate clearly and respectfully with campers, parents/guardians, and staff members.

    Qualifications Required:

    Interest or background in sports and recreation/child development

    Strong communication and leadership skills.

    A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team

    Desired:

    Previous experience working with youth in a day/summer camp setting.

    A passion for education, sports management, child development, or related fields.

    Current enrollment in high school or post-secondary education (preferred but not required).

    Training Requirements:

    All instructors will be required to complete the following before starting:

    Criminal background check

    CPR/AED/First Aid certification

    Southeast Iowa Sports Center orientation
