    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    Spotlight Events, Inc. is an employee-owned National Dance Competition company with a focus on excellence in everything we do; our culture is inclusive and inspiring. Travel is a requirement and candidate should expect, on average, 8-12 travel assignments throughout the year, the bulk of which will occur during our in-season of January – July.

    We are seeking an energetic and career-minded candidate with superior organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-through to work in our Production/Media Department. The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of social media and be accustomed to working in a highly collaborative and communicative team environment but with the ability to also work independently.  This position is a hybrid role with office hours and on-event duties (working various positions at our dance competitions).  There is some work-from-home flexibility, dependent upon employee tasks and responsibilities.

    The Social Media Specialist reports directly to the Media Supervisor.  This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual possessing these skills to be part of a talented, committed, and innovative team.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Creation and implementation of social media/advertising strategy through collaboration with Digital Media and Sales & Marketing teams
    • Identify and monitor important social media KPIs
    • Works with Digital Media Specialists to create necessary graphics
    • Oversight of social media postings and content
    • Measure success of social media campaigns
    • Address client concerns expressed through social media
    • Stay informed of the latest social media platforms, tools, best practices, and technology.
    • Assist with training of seasonal contracted Social Media Coordinators
    • Production, Media &Event prep and follow through
    • Creation of guidelines for on-event social media posts and monitoring of such
    • Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS + COMPETENCIES 

    • Ability to work with limited supervision in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
    • Experience working as a Social Media Coordinator/Specialist or pursuing higher education in a relevant field
    • Knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, with an understanding of social media strategy for brand awareness
    • Knowledge of SEO, web traffic metrics and social media KPIs
    • Familiarity with web design and functionality, basic graphic design, and video editing
    • Experience working with networked computers with a basic understanding and competency using current software and hardware
    • The ability to meet deadlines and prioritize conflicting demands according to multiple client and team needs
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
    • Proactive attitude
    • Ability to adhere to the values and mission of Spotlight Events, Inc.
    • Must be reliable, punctual, and flexible to adapting business needs
    • Technical dance knowledge preferred
