    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Engineer Manager to lead our team of system engineers and drive the design, implementation, and maintenance of our critical systems infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, proven leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering innovative solutions. The Systems Engineer Manager reports to the Director, Technology Operations in the Technology department.

    The essential duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

    • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the system engineering team, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

    • System Design and Implementation: Oversee the design, implementation, and integration of complex systems, including hardware, software, and network components.

    • Performance Optimization: Continuously evaluate and optimize system performance to meet or exceed business requirements.

    • Automation: Reduce manual processes through automation using scripting languages, third-party tools, etc.

    • Problem Resolution: Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations.

    • Team Management: Recruit, train, and manage a team of system engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

    • Project Management: Plan, execute, and deliver system engineering projects within defined scope, budget, and timeline constraints, leveraging Agile and/or Kanban methodologies to optimize efficiency.

    • Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers.

    • Documentation: Ensure comprehensive documentation of system architectures, configurations, and operational procedures.

    • Security: Implement and maintain robust security policies, processes, configurations, and tools to protect systems and data from unauthorized access and threats.

    • Research and Development: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Technical Skills: Proven expertise in system design, implementation, and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux), networking protocols, security policies and practices, virtualization, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), and scripting languages ( PowerShell, Bash, Z Shell)

    • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of technical professionals, fostering collaboration and high performance.

    • Workflow & Project Management Skills: Proven ability to prioritize, estimate, and deliver work for a team leveraging Agile and/or Kanban methodologies along with successful implementation of complex projects on time and within budget.

    • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively tailor communication of technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve complex issues.

    • Experience with the following:

      • Certifications in relevant technologies

      • Experience with following: Active Directory Utilities, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), Intune, AutoPilot, PDQ, GPO, Google Workspace Administration, IDP/SSO (Okta), MFA (Cisco Duo, Okta Verify)

      • Experience with DevOps methodologies and tools.

      • Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.

    Additional Information

    Compensation:

    $120k-150k

    *Salary will vary based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, experience, and credentials.
