Fire Sprinkler Technician Job Description
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Fire Sprinkler Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience in the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of various fire suppression systems.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential properties in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes.
Install and repair wet-pipe and dry-pipe fire suppression systems.
Conduct testing and maintenance of backflow prevention devices, ensuring compliance and proper function.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain system components including valves, alarms, hydrants, and piping.
Document all work performed accurately and thoroughly, including inspection reports, service orders, and repair recommendations.
Communicate effectively with clients to explain system issues, repair options, and maintenance schedules.
Maintain an organized service vehicle and accurate inventory of parts and tools.
Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Fire Sprinkler Technician, demonstrating expertise in wet and dry systems.
Strong understanding of NFPA 13, 25, and other relevant fire and building codes [1].
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Additional Desired Skills (A Plus):
Experience with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire pumps.
Relevant certifications (e.g., NICET certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology or a Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester certification) [1, 2].
Experience with special hazard systems (e.g., pre-action, deluge, foam).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
Capability to climb ladders and utilize mechanical lifts safely.
