Summary of Position:
The position is responsible for wholesale administration, sales, and warehouse operations for the company. This position promote all product lines to meet and/or exceed the sales goals. This position is responsible for managing inventory, orders, deliveries, and accounting are also key responsibilities for this position.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic sales plans in the local market, nationally and internationally.
Directs sales preparation, reviews sales proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation.
Provides management with timely reviews of organization’s sales status and progress.
Directs sales forecasting activities and performance goals.
Identify and call on retail, on-premise and chain accounts.
Formulate and execute individual selling strategies for winery direct accounts
Hires, trains, supervise, motivate and develop sales and sales support; manages schedules and workflow.
Review market analyses to determine customer needs, pricing and discount rates
Primary client contact to develop sales and advertising programs, i.e. hand selling cases, road shows, advertising specials etc
Identifies and directs sales programs to eliminate unprofitable items from sales lines
Delivers sales presentations to key clients directly and participates in joint calls with sales representative (s)
Responsible for national wholesale and direct to consumer compliance
Meets and develops key clients maintaining relationships and negotiating/closing deals.
Responsible for developing forecasting and reporting sales volume
Monitors and evaluates competitive products and activities
Oversees inventory transfers
Coordinates tasting events at the winery; works collaboratively with special trade shows and promotional special events
Train Staff on South Coast Wine Products
Prepare clear and concise communications and reports
Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Management
Monitor competitor activities and market trends to find new account opportunities
Identify and convert new account opportunities for the business, finding ways to improve and develop sales numbers
Displays product at retail level, checks back stock in retail cages and assists customers with orders
Resolves onsite customer complaints
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration; 5+ years of sales and operational related experience
Must be over 21
Knowledge of wines and wine production a plus
Excellent presentation skills
Must have strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong organizational skills and attention to details
Strong analytical and reasoning skills, including financial data
Prior alcoholic beverage sales experience is preferred
