Summary:

Spruce Grove, Inc. has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Property Management team to manage our commercial portfolio. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be responsible for all aspects of accounting for our commercial properties, including accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements. This candidate must have experience in managing commercial accounting.

Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of accounting for a commercial property portfolio

Prepares monthly bank account reconciliations on all property accounts.

Perform CAM and billing reconciliations, prepare journal entries and perform income statement analysis.

Performs quarterly and semi-annual internal audit functions as assigned.

Liaises with external auditors during on-site audits.

Develop financial reports as required.

Job Requirements

Knowledge of Yardi software highly desirable.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Minimum of three - five years’ of progressively more responsible commercial accounting experience.

Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and the application of general accounting theory.

Broad conceptual judgment, initiative, and ability to manage complex accounting issues.

High level of customer service approach.

Solid communication skills – both verbal and written.

Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with a keen sense of urgency.

Advanced Microsoft Office skills such as Word and Excel.

Commercial property experience required.
