    Level Designer

    What you'll do:

    As a Level Designer at Squanch Games you’ll be in charge of making unique and memorable worlds. You’ll work on levels at all points of their creation: paper maps, white box layouts, gameplay spaces, playtesting and iteration, and final polish Creating memorable levels is extremely important to you and should have a passion for level design.

    In this role, you will:

    1. Use UE5 to build out well-designed and functional white box layouts that also have great compositions, pacing, flow, and strong aesthetics.
    2. Create immersive gameplay scenarios that support and enhance the core mechanics of the game.
    3. Work closely with other teams to deliver content that meets each discipline's goals and creates a memorable experience.
    4. Script new mechanics in levels.
    5. Use UE5 Blueprints to script level functionality.
    6. Address bugs and gameplay issues to ensure a stable and polished product.
    7. Be collaborative and humble: You know that the best work comes from a team who trust and respect each other. You strive to collaborate with others and don’t care whose ideas win. Best ideas win!
    8. Play to your strengths and not be afraid to admit your weaknesses.

    What we’re looking for:

    • Credit on one or more published titles is preferred.
      • Shipped console title is a plus!
    • Knowledge and experience with level editing tools and scripting (Unreal Engine, Unity, or similar editors).
    • Comfortability with some structure and process, but willing to roll with the punches.
    • Good sense of aesthetics, design, colors, and an eye for composition.
    • Intermediate knowledge of Maya or other major 3D modeling program.
    • Very good interpersonal skills including strong communication skills; both verbal and written skills are required.
    • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in the arts is a plus!

    Location:
