    Job Description

    PURPOSE OF POSITION: 

    The Compensation Analyst will contribute to the on-going strategy, analysis, administration, design, and compliance of compensation programs and structures.  Evaluates and maintains jobs, determines pay grades, participates in compensation surveys, and performs related analysis.  The analyst will also serve as a partner to Human Resources and business stakeholders to provide consultation on pay decisions and best practices.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Participate in external compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information.   Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine classification and appropriate salary ranges.

    Partner with stakeholders to assess new roles and revise existing roles to determine appropriate job grading and placement.  Perform internal equity analysis.  Ownership of job profile maintenance and position management.

    Administer and coordinate the annual compensation cycles for merit, short-term incentives, and other compensation programs.  Includes updates to HRIS and other internal systems.

    Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and other relevant regulations through audits, reports, and analysis. 

    Lead ad hoc projects and develop reports as necessary to support Human Resources and business stakeholders.  Develop cost models and analysis.

    Assists with development of compensation policies, training, and related procedures.  Actively maintain knowledge of compensation best practices and industry trends and ensure all compensation programs meet those standards.

    Key participant in system conversion project.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business, Human Resources Management or related discipline.

    Two to fours years of compensation experience, SHRM or World at Work certification a plus.

    Experience in job evaluations and market pricing strongly preferred.

    Demonstrated experience researching and analyzing large complex data sets, naturally curious and inquisitive with a problem solving mindset.

    Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple high priority projects.

    Advanced Excel skills, and proven ability to accurately analyze and interpret employee related data, working knowledge of HRIS systems and databases.

    Attention to detail, ability to produce accurate and quality work, strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

    Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Workday experience a plus.

    Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
