    Square Cafe & Title 9 in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking an experienced full-time Executive Chef.

    Who are we? We are a popular, community-focused cafe & bar offering a vibrant, modern space for breakfast and lunch in the East Liberty neighborhood. Our menu showcases local, seasonal American dishes with vegetarian options. We are committed to supporting local talent and the community by partnering with several local nonprofits for fundraisers, special events, and promotions.

    In 2025, we created and opened a new concept, Title 9, next door to Square Cafe. This bar & restaurant is currently open 4 nights a week, highlighting women's sports.

    Candidate summary: The ideal candidate is a strong leader, creative, and innovative. The initial focus of this role is to build and strengthen a solid BOH team.

    • $75-85K salary

    Experience and skill requirements:

    • BOH cooking and BOH management experience in a high-volume cafe or casual restaurant
    • P & L management (maintaining food costs, maximizing profitability)
    • Ordering, receiving, and inventory
    • Purveyor management
    • Staff training and motivation
    • Food safety knowledge (RAMP & ServeSafe certification preferred)
    • Staff scheduling
    • Menu Creation
    • Work in a standing position
    • Reach, bend, stoop, and lift to 50 pounds
    • Work in a standing position
    • Manage 5-10 employees
    • Familiar with computers (Excel & Word)
