    _SquarePeg is working with a consumer financial services company to help them find their ideal VP of Loss Forecasting. Here is their description: _ROLE SUMMARY/PURPOSE

    This role is in our Loss Forecast team and combines responsibilities for managing key aspects of the loss forecasting process along with the accountability for loss forecast estimates for an assigned set of our consumer lending portfolios. The role focuses on maintaining robust ongoing insights into portfolio performance and their contextual relevance in the forecast outcomes generated through the loss forecast model(s). The role also focuses on executing/ managing key aspects of the loss forecast process to ensure an efficient, well governed process culminating in presentation and explanation of loss forecast estimates to key stakeholders.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Closely watch portfolio performance indicators to identify early signals/ emerging trends. Constantly upgrade portfolio monitoring framework to maintain relevance and promote agility
    • Take leadership in interacting with cross functional partners to establish causality behind portfolio performance, and escalate risks and opportunities appropriately to stakeholders
    • Achieve and maintain sound understanding of loss forecast models' inputs, capabilities and limitations. Encourage and deliver relevant analysis to support the model owner and users in making the appropriate forecast assumptions
    • Articulate forecasts outcomes with the appropriate contextual background of actual portfolio performance and forecast assumptions
    • Prepare materials for review with senior functional leadership
    • Maintain the process calendar and manage deliverables, from multiple sources to ensure a smooth process with predictable timelines
    • Adhere to internal and external governance standards throughout the process
    • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelors degree or higher with quantitative underpinning (for example: Risk, Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Decision sciences/Analytics) and 8+ years of experience in Risk, Credit, or Collections in Consumer Finance, or other relevant professional experience, or in lieu of degree 12+ years of experience in Risk, Credit, or Collections in Consumer Finance
    • 3+ years of experience in performing credit performance analysis on large and diverse consumer credit portfolios, including experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau/ Power BI
    • 3+ years of experience in predictive modeling/estimation in areas such as Loss forecasting, ALLL, stress testing, or other adjacent areas with consumer credit impairment estimation
    • 2+ years of demonstrable experience in creating visualizations of quantitative information to effectively communicate conclusions of in-depth analysis to aid in management decisioning

    DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

    • Good overall understanding of consumer credit lending, with a focus on revolving products (Credit Cards, HELOC etc.)
    • Proven hands-on experience utilizing SAS or SQL data mining skills as well as open-source tools such as Python, PySpark, R
    • Good understanding of US economic environment, common macro-economic indicators and correlations to consumer credit performance
    • Familiarity with establishing and maintaining process controls for large/complex processes
    • Intermediate/advanced EXCEL skills with demonstrable familiarity with data processing/report building/analysis techniques
    • Intermediate/strong PowerPoint skills, including ability to create understandable presentations that incorporate graphs or other visual aides to portray complex subjects
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, to independently present explanations of complex subjects
    • Ability to manage multiple competing initiatives and deliver results within deadlines and with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
    • Excellent time management skills

    Applicants who are currently employed on H-1B visa must have at least 2 years of eligibility remaining on their current visa term in order for us to petition for an employment based visa on behalf of such applicant. L1 visa would be considered for an internal candidate meeting all requirements for the L1 and all our eligibility requirements. Applicants holding other types of visas, such as F-1 visas, must have at least 2 years of eligibility that would permit them to work for us.

    The salary range for this position is 85,000.00 - 170,000.00 USD Annual
