Job Description

We are looking for a talented, energetic Production Operations Engineer to join our team. This person will be responsible for developing and scaling out our technology platform. He/She will work closely with various teams in the company and provide technical support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide technical support to various teams
• Responsible for the continual reliability and scalability of SquareTrade’s hosted and cloud infrastructure and applications
• Ensure systems vulnerabilities are addressed on a timely basis
• Participate in the development and execution on IT roadmap projects
• Support release-related software (Jira, Jenkins, GitHub Enterprise)
• Resolve systems, network, and application layer issues.
• Participate in on-call rotation
• Develop tooling to automate and manage system configurations
• Manage technical risks and resolve issues that affect release schedule and quality

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE IS:

• An expert in IT infrastructure administration with extensive working knowledge to support an Agile Development environment
• Eager to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities
• Able to multi-task and prioritize appropriately
• Develop scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, deploy, monitor, and manage infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS, Engineering, or similar is preferred
• 4+ years of experience working in Linux environments
• Experience with automation/configuration management tools (such as Puppet)
• Experience with a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services
• Ability to code well in a scripting language.
• Comfortable with git
• Monitoring experiences such as Zabbix and/or Dynatrace a plus
• Knowledge of IT Operations best practices in an always-up environment
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with containerization such as Kubernetes and AWS
