    Job Description:

    The Regional Sales Manager, under general supervision, manages sales activities including supervision of contracts, direct sales, customer relations, vendor relations, and related financial performance. Supervises sales reps and monitors sales in relation to goals. Prepares and delivers sales materials, attends exhibits and other promotional opportunities.

    Summary of Essential Job Functions:

    • Manages sales efforts, including activities of sales reps, negotiation and sales functions, and monitoring of contacts
    • Continuously evaluates and recommends new sales incentive plans to maximize profit and increase employee motivation. This needs to be done on a monthly basis to insure positive growth and increased market share.
    • Develops and supervises the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials
    • Supervises personnel which typically includes recommendations for hiring performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution
    • Sells to and maintains contact with major accounts, promotes positive relations with jobbers, wholesalers, vendors, and other distributors.
    • As appropriate, participates in the development of operating goals and objectives for sales unit, recommends, implements, and administers methods and procedures to enhance operations.
    • Assists in the annual budget planning process and regularly monitors expenditures
    • Analyzes and appraises the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs and results.
    • Responds to inquiries and researches and resolves problems related to transactions handled by the sales unit; serves as liaison with other parties in the day to day administrative and operational issues
    • Maintains and monitors records and reports and maintains order fulfillment functions to insure timely customer services
    • Represent Squires Lumber with the utmost professionalism
    • Neat appearance appropriate to the job function
    • All other duties/special projects as assigned
    • Provide exceptional customer service to the internal and external clientele

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • College degree OR 5 years’ experience
    • Ability to supervise and train employees to include organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments
    • Ability to plan and organize sales promotion programs and/or events
    • Knowledge of shipping, receiving and inventory control procedures and documentation
    • Knowledge of sales principles, methods, and techniques
    • Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management
    • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
    • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
    • Ability to make evaluative judgments
    • Employee development and performance management skills
    • Ability to analyze and solve problems
    • Ability to communicate effectively
    • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of customers, vendors, and employees.
    • Ability to negotiate and manage contractual arrangements
    • Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions
    • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals
    • Knowledge of cost analysis techniques
    • Construction or home improvement background preferred
    • Aggressive, assertive and driven
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical
    • Able to lift, move material or equipment weighing up to 100 pounds
    • Availability to work days, evening, and weekend hours if needed
    • Legally eligible to work in the United States
