Job Description
Lead AV system design efforts for 3–5 projects per month , ensuring accuracy, scalability, and adherence to industry standards.
Develop comprehensive design packages including signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, device specifications, and cable schedules.
Collaborate closely with sales, project managers, and installation teams to ensure design intent is accurately executed in the field.
Conduct site surveys and needs assessments to validate system requirements.
Present design concepts and technical details to internal teams and clients as needed.
Work with vendors and manufacturers to ensure product compatibility and current technology alignment.
Provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, including design revisions, change orders, and commissioning assistance.
Qualifications
CTS-D and/or CTS-I certification (active or in progress).
5+ years of experience as an AV Design Engineer in commercial integration.
Demonstrated experience designing projects within the $100k–$1M+ range.
Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, D-Tools, Bluebeam, and/or Visio.
Strong understanding of AV systems including:
UC/VC platforms
DSPs (QSC, Biamp, BSS, etc.)
Control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX)
Video distribution technologies
Audio system design
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Experience designing for commercial markets such as corporate, education, government, and healthcare.
Familiarity with networked AV, AV-over-IP, and emerging technologies.
Manufacturer certifications (Crestron, Q-SYS, Extron, Biamp, etc.).
