Controls Engineer

Direct Hire | Minneapolis, MN | $100k - $120k

Hybrid work schedule

Seeking a mid to senior-level Controls Engineer to lead and support process and machine control projects from concept through commissioning. This role is heavily focused on Rockwell/Allen-Bradley platforms and includes customer interaction, project estimating, and system configuration.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and configure PLC, HMI, and control systems (Rockwell-heavy)
• Lead or support projects from proposal through startup and commissioning
• Interface directly with customers to gather requirements and provide solutions
• Assist with project estimating and technical proposals
• Configure and troubleshoot control systems in both new and existing environments
• Support system testing, commissioning, and optimization
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver projects on time and within scope

Qualifications

• 5+ years of controls engineering experience (7+ preferred)
• Strong experience with Rockwell / Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix)
• Background in process control and/or machine automation
• Experience with customer-facing project work
• Strong troubleshooting and system integration skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Nice to Have

• SCADA or higher-level system integration experience
• Experience supporting proposals or cost estimation
