    Job Description

    The purpose of this job is to oversee Pilot’s design team to meet department objectives and initiative assigned to the design team, including new building designs, building expansions or remodels to meet established scope, design standards and general professional standards. The Corporate Architect role will lead multiple design teams of Architects and CAD designers in architectural project design through all phases and work alongside the project team to successfully complete assigned projects.

    • Participates in the conceptual design and provides full support through the entire project.
    • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Pilot brand and partner brands where we execute design (Wendy’s, Arby’s, Taco Bell, McDonald’s, Subway, Dunkin’, Cinnabon, etc.)
    • Develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects.
    • Coordinates with Director and Department Head on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies. Can be relied upon to present directly to leadership / stakeholders on technical and design solutions.
    • Responsible for oversight of Architect 1/Architect 2 design processes and project management, as well as project management of external architects and consultants.
    • Works alongside Director/Department Head and CAD Manager to develop and maintain template standards.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Architecture (NAAB accredited school preferred) or Masters of Architecture (NAAB accredited school preferred)
    • Completed Architectural Licensure by Architect Registration Examination (ARE) in multiple states and eligible for license in all states in the contiguous United States
    • Minimum 10 years of experience as a licensed Architect
    • Advanced working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and Adobe suite of products
    • Working knowledge in Architectural design and detailing skills
    • Working knowledge in Consultant and Vendor Coordination to aid in preparation of Construction Documents
    • Working knowledge of Building and Fire Codes, as well as Federal Laws to include ADA requirements (this includes all codes applicable to building design)
    • Working knowledge of Construction Documents, AIA Contracts, Specifications and procedures to required to complete these documents.
    • Working knowledge of building systems, including Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Communication and Fire Alarm and Monitoring systems. This knowledge is understood to be limited to working knowledge for the purpose of coordination of a complete building design.
    • Working knowledge and ability to apply and implement design standards provided under the guidance or regulations of others including the Corporate Architect and other Brand Architects.
    • Basic Microsoft 365 skills
    • Basic understanding and interest in retail design and technology
    • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and see them to completion.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including telephone skills
    • Strong attention to detail.
