    As they continue to scale rapidly and expand into new markets, they are investing in strengthening their DevOps capabilities to support a robust, cloud-native infrastructure on Azure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across their critical systems. Currently, they are looking to hire a Sr DevOps Engineer to join the team based out of Lakeland, FL.

    This is a direct-hire, remote position, but looking for someone in the Greater Tampa/Orlando Area with the expectation of travel to the Lakeland office on a monthly basis.

    The Role You’ll Play

    As the Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a key member of a lean, high-performing team responsible for managing and optimizing our Azure-based infrastructure, including AKS Kubernetes environments. You will partner with development, QA, and IT operations teams to automate deployments, enhance system reliability, and strengthen CI/CD pipelines across environments.

    This role requires strong troubleshooting ability above all else, coupled with deep technical expertise, security awareness, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll also mentor junior staff and support mission-critical systems that power the industry’s rapid growth and evolving business needs.

    • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable Azure-based DevOps infrastructure, including AKS and Kubernetes clusters.

    • Build, manage, and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration. (CloudFormation/ARM experience is a plus).

    • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub and Octopus Deploy to support rapid software delivery.

    • Implement secure automation solutions across development, staging/UAT, and production environments.

    • Manage cloud security/IAM, user roles, and integrate vulnerability assessment tools into CI/CD workflows.

    • Monitor system health and performance using New Relic and other observability tools, proactively identifying and resolving issues.

    • Troubleshoot complex production incidents, analyze logs, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.

    • Collaborate closely with development teams, QA, and IT operations to ensure smooth deployment and integration of new features and services.

    • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

    • Engage in regular team meetings and stand-ups, contributing to planning and prioritization of DevOps tasks.

    Background Profile:

    The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in DevOps engineering with a strong focus on Azure cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and automation, combined with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps or systems engineering roles, with significant hands-on experience in Azure AKS and Kubernetes environments. (AWS experience is a plus)

    • Coding ability required - Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Terraform, Octopus Deploy, and GitHub.

    • Strong scripting and automation skills, with experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.

    • Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting for automation.

    • Expertise in monitoring and performance tuning using tools like New Relic APM.

    • Solid understanding of container orchestration, pod management, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters.

    • Experience managing cloud infrastructure budgets and optimizing resource usage.

    • Strong knowledge of networking, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and cloud security principles.

    • Experience with compliance/security standards (SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001) preferred.

    • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, able to diagnose complex system issues and implement effective solutions.

    • Strong communication skills, capable of collaborating within a small, tight-knit team and mentoring junior staff.

    • Comfortable with on-call rotations and flexible work hours to support production environments.

    • Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments is a plus.

  • Compensation
    $130,000-$150,000 per year
