RIVUS Consulting LLC is currently seeking a part-time (PT) Sr. Electrical Inspector/Engineer to augment our team. RIVUS is an established small business that provides engineering, environmental, and technology consulting services to a wide range of clients. About The Role
We have an opportunity for a part-time Sr. Electrical (Condition Assessment) Inspector/ Engineer to join our team in support of a public sector client. This position requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written reports while working in a team-oriented environment with other discipline leads.
Key Responsibilities
Performing field inspections of electrical systems at water/wastewater facilities and pump stations for condition assessment and compliance with applicable codes and regulations to identify needed improvements and associated costs.
Inspect electrical installations for compliance with the applicable Electrical Specialty Code and local regulations.
Conduct assigned inspections of treatment plants, pump stations, and other public infrastructure.
Review electrical products for proper listings and ensure installations meet Fire and Life Safety standards.
Identify code violations and coordinate timely corrective actions.
Document accurate inspection records and communicate findings with project managers in formal reports.
Document and prepare detailed inspection reports along with recommendations resulting from the condition assessment.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in condition assessment of wastewater pump stations.
Background in municipal wastewater infrastructure inspection.
12+ years of electrical inspector/engineer experience.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred but not required.
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, specifications, and standards.
Knowledge of electrical codes and standards related to municipal infrastructure.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and codes.
Ability to communicate technical facility condition assessment and recommended improvements verbally and in formal written reports.
Ability to use laptops/tablets and software such as Microsoft Office.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse teams.
Other Requirements
Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and applicable State Electrical Safety Laws
