  • Responsibilities

We are working with a rapidly growing, acquisition-driven organization in the supply chain and manufacturing space that is investing heavily in modernizing its IT infrastructure.

Over the past several years, this company has expanded significantly through both organic growth and strategic M&A, creating a complex, global environment that spans nearly 20 locations, multiple data centers, and a growing Azure cloud footprint. This growth has created a need for strong, well-rounded infrastructure engineers who can operate across networking, systems, cloud, and security.

This is an opportunity to step into a senior-level role where you will not only work hands-on across a broad technology stack, but also help guide architecture decisions, support cybersecurity and compliance initiatives, and act as a technical leader within a lean, high-impact team.

If you enjoy wearing multiple hats, solving real business problems, and working in an environment where your input actually shapes the direction of the infrastructure, this is a role worth exploring.

This is a contract-to-hire position (target conversion ~3 months) based in Exton, PA, with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite / 2 remote).

    The Role You'll Play

As the Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will serve as a key technical leader responsible for supporting and evolving a hybrid infrastructure environment across on-prem data centers and cloud platforms.

This role is intentionally broad, combining networking, systems, cloud, and security responsibilities, while also acting as a go-to resource for the team.

    You will:

    • Support and maintain a global infrastructure spanning ~20 sites, including two data centers (Production and DR) and Azure cloud environments

    • Act as a senior technical resource and informal leader, providing guidance and mentorship to other engineers

    • Own and support LAN environments including switching, wireless access points, VLANs, and site networking (Layer 1–3 focus)

    • Manage and optimize VMware environments including vCenter, vSphere, vSAN, clustering, HA, and DRS

    • Administer and expand the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure, M365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, and Purview

    • Help drive GRC and cybersecurity initiatives, including DLP policies, compliance scoring, and security posture improvements

    • Partner with external providers supporting NOC, SOC, and SD-WAN, acting as the internal point of coordination

    • Support and enhance business continuity and disaster recovery processes (Veeam, Zerto)

    • Develop and maintain runbooks, incident response plans, and operational procedures

    • Contribute to infrastructure automation and continuous improvement initiatives

    • Collaborate with leadership on infrastructure strategy to support ongoing growth and M&A activity

    • Support emerging AI initiatives, including governance, security controls, and policy enforcement within tools like Copilot and other platforms

    Background Profile

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded infrastructure engineer who enjoys working across multiple domains and can operate in both hands-on and advisory capacities.

    Core Requirements

    • 5+ years of experience across infrastructure, including networking, systems, virtualization, and cloud

    • Strong LAN networking experience (Layer 1–3), including switches and wireless environments

    • Hands-on experience with VMware (vCenter, vSphere, vSAN, clustering)

    • Strong experience with Microsoft ecosystem (Azure, M365, Entra, Intune, Defender, admin portals)

    • Experience working in hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud)

    • Exposure to cybersecurity and GRC concepts (CIS benchmarks, DLP, compliance frameworks)

    • Experience with backup and DR solutions (Veeam, Zerto)

    • Ability to operate in a broad role covering infrastructure, not siloed into one specialty

    • Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts into business terms

    Preferred / Nice to Have

    • Experience with Extreme Networks (or similar such as Cisco, Aruba)

    • Familiarity with NIST CSF, NIST AI RMF, CIS benchmarks

    • Experience with tools such as Darktrace, Proofpoint, ManageEngine, PRTG, Lansweeper, Device42

    • Exposure to ITSM / ITAM platforms

    • Experience supporting M&A integrations or multi-site environments

    • Exposure to AI tools and governance (Copilot, etc.)

    • Experience in manufacturing or IT/OT environments
