Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Manager-Contract Management (Supply Chain).
In this role, the successful candidate as the Sr. Manager, Contract Management is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end review, negotiation, and management of a broad portfolio of commercial agreements in support of the Supply Chain and Strategic Sourcing functions. This role serves as the primary contracts lead for the Supply Chain organization, partnering closely with Sourcing, business stakeholders, and the Office of General Counsel (OGC) to enable efficient, compliant, and business-oriented contracting. The Sr. Manager will ultimately lead a team of 56 Contract Specialists and will be accountable for building a scalable, standardized contract review function that is deeply integrated into Sourcing workflows. The successful candidate will be an attorney (JD) with substantial experience negotiating diverse commercial agreements, ideally within or in support of a large U.S.-based healthcare system, and will demonstrate a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to risk.

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
REQUIRED:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
7-10+ years of experience in commercial contracting, with substantial experience drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements.
Demonstrated experience negotiating directly with vendors and vendors legal representatives.
Proven ability to develop and implement contract review guidelines, playbooks, and standardized approaches to risk and negotiation.
Management experience leading and developing a team (preferably 3+ direct reports) in a contract, legal, or sourcing environment.
Strong understanding of risk allocation, liability frameworks, indemnity, IP, data security, privacy, service levels, and other key commercial terms.
Demonstrated ability to provide balanced, pragmatic legal and risk advice in a fast-paced, business-driven environment.
Excellent communication, persuasion, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence multiple organizational levels.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree in a related field
8+ years of experience in Contracting or related field, with minimum 3 years of experience managing a professional team
Experience in Consulting, Financial Services, Healthcare, or Technology industry
Experience with CLM system and reporting tools. An asset if experienced with AI tools for Contract review
Knowledge of IT Infrastructure Products and Services and/or Clinical Products and Services
Proficiency in contracting skills; drafting, redlining, negotiating, contract lifecycle management
Experience in managing complex contract negotiations from start to execution
Experience working with Vendors in direct and indirect models (VARs, wholesalers)
Proven track record as a developer of people; coaching and mentor mindset; promotes quality and applies feedback to improve performance
Critical thinker; analytical, problem-solving, influencer
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High ethics and morals consistent with being a key gatekeeper for sourcing decisions
Effective communicator of changes, builds commitment and overcomes resistance and experienced with working directly with C-level leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
PREFERRED:
Experience working in or with a large U.S.-based healthcare system, academic medical center, or similarly complex, highly regulated environment.
Familiarity with healthcarespecific regulatory and compliance considerations (e.g., HIPAA, Stark/Antikickback, data privacy and security requirements) and their implications for commercial agreements.
Experience collaborating closely with an in-house Office of General Counsel or legal department and operating under delegated authority from Legal.
Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems and/or document tools.
Prior experience supporting Supply Chain, Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing functions.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $121,792.22 - $210,091.64 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
