HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW

The Senior Manager Export Compliance is responsible for developing and managing compliance processes, procedures, and system interfaces for a large multi-national company, while ensuring compliance with U.S. export laws and regulations

This is a hybrid position based near Irvine, CA.

EXPECTATIONS

• Operationalize export regulations through development and management of systemic controls
• Develop and maintain Compliance Tables and data in ERP and WMS systems
• Manage day-to-day operations of the Global Trade Compliance Center of Excellence
• Coordinate operations for export shipments; ECCN classification, documentation, and AES filing
• Develop and maintain SOPs to ensure compliance with export laws and regulations
• Conduct internal and external audits and develop corrective action plans
• Identify and report trade compliance violations and lead investigations
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess business impact and drive strategy
• Build trade metrics and KPIs to drive continuous improvement
• Lead and develop the Global Trade Compliance team building best in class practices

ESSENTIALS

• Bachelor's degree required
• 10+ years of experience in export controls, compliance, and trade operations
• 3+ years of leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of BIS, EAR/ITAR, OFAC - encryption & category 5 a plus
• Experience with export licensing requirements
• Experience working with IT teams on SAP/GTS configuration and implementation
• Technical acumen and data analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels
