    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced and organized Senior Manager of Operations to oversee the production operations within the NBC News creative production department. This role is critical in ensuring seamless execution across scenic design, broadcast graphics, remote production, and other production-related functions. The Senior Manager will support the VP of Operations and serve as a central liaison between editorial, technical, and creative teams, ensuring resources are efficiently allocated, workflows are optimized, and production standards consistently meet the highest levels of broadcast excellence.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Operational Leadership * Help to manage day-to-day operations across scenic, graphics, and remote production units. * Develop and implement operational strategies and workflows that optimize efficiency and quality. * Coordinate logistics for large-scale productions including but not limited to both breaking news coverage and planned special events.
    • Production Excellence * Ensure all scenic, graphics, and remote production deliverables meet brand and broadcast standards. * Oversee the planning, design, and execution of sets, graphics packages, and field production workflows. * Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to integrate new technologies that enhance storytelling and visual presentation.
    • Budget & Resource Management * Manage operational budgets, vendor relationships, and resource allocation. * Negotiate with outside vendors for scenic builds, equipment rentals, and remote production services. * Track costs and optimize expenditures while maintaining high-quality output.
    • Project Management * Lead cross-departmental initiatives and special projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets and quality benchmarks are met. * Support long-term planning for major events, network launches, and newsroom upgrades. * Implement metrics and reporting tools to measure efficiency, costs, and performance.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Operations, Communications, Media Production, or related field.
    • 8+ years’ experience in television production operations, with at least 3 years in a management role.
    • Understanding of scenic design, broadcast graphics, and remote/live production.
    • A self-starter who has strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-pressure news environment.
    • Proven track record in budget management and vendor negotiations.
    • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
    • Familiarity with broadcast technology systems, newsroom software, and emerging production tools.

    Salary range: $110,000- $140,000(bonus eligible)
