    Sr. Manufacturing Engineer
    Minneapolis, MN | Direct-Hire | $105,000-$125,000 | Onsite

    This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing high-volume manufacturing processes that support secondary operations for magnesium and aluminum cast components. The position focuses on improving how parts are machined, assembled, finished, or verified, and includes opportunities to integrate automation where beneficial. The primary work site is Minneapolis, with periodic travel to other facilities to support project deployment and troubleshooting.

    Key Responsibilities

    Product and Process Engineering

    • Review customer prints and 3D models to determine manufacturability and provide feedback for design improvements when needed.
    • Interpret complex geometry and GD&T requirements, evaluating CMM and other measurement data to monitor and adjust production processes.
    • Lead concept development and implementation of automation projects that improve throughput, consistency, or quality.
    • Use structured problem-solving methods to identify root causes and resolve design or manufacturing challenges.
    • Perform cycle-time studies and develop recommendations to increase process efficiency.
    • Conduct tooling reviews and collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with internal specifications and performance expectations.
    • Lead and participate in PFMEA activities to identify risks and establish mitigation strategies.
    • Identify and implement error-proofing solutions across manufacturing operations.
    • Utilize CAD/CAM systems to support tooling, fixtures, and process development work.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; candidates with a technical associate degree (Machining, CAD/CAM, Automation) or equivalent experience will be considered.
    • CNC machining experience is required.
    • Proficiency with 3D CAD/CAM tools is required.
    • Experience working with automated systems or robotics is strongly preferred.
    • Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word expected.
    • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, team-based environment.
    • Strong prioritization and task-management skills.
    • Ability to manage shifting priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic production environment.
    • Demonstrated success bringing engineering projects from concept to completion.
    • Persuasive, motivating communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
