    Senior Network Engineer

    About the Opportunity

    Butterfly Staffing is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support and maintain enterprise-level network infrastructure across multiple environments.

    This role is responsible for the design, implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of secure network systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and security across LAN/WAN and wireless environments.

    This is a hands-on position requiring strong technical depth, problem-solving ability, and experience working in dynamic, operational environments.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN and wireless network infrastructure
    • Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and security appliances
    • Monitor network performance and respond to alerts, outages, and service disruptions
    • Troubleshoot network issues and support root cause analysis and resolution
    • Evaluate and deploy new network services and technologies
    • Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and documentation
    • Assist with system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements
    • Support network automation, policy management, and analytics tools
    • Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed
    • Collaborate with internal IT teams and support ongoing projects

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of relevant experience
    • Minimum of 5 years supporting Microsoft-based environments
    • Strong understanding of:
      • LAN/WAN | DNS | Routing | Switching
      • Network security principles and infrastructure
    • Hands-on experience with:
      • Cisco networking (routers, switches, wireless)
      • Firewalls and security appliances

    Preferred Experience

    • Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center)
    • Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
    • Network automation and software-defined networking (SDN)
    • Zero Trust architecture and network segmentation
    • Wireless networking (design, troubleshooting, RF fundamentals)
    • Firepower Management Center (FMC)
    • Firewall migrations (e.g., Juniper to Cisco NGFW)

    Work Environment

    • On-site role supporting operational environments, including industrial settings
    • Must be comfortable working in indoor and outdoor conditions
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical installation tasks (cabling, equipment, etc.)
    • May require work in tight spaces and on vessels
    • Participation in on-call rotation required
