The opportunity
Adobe Design is looking for a Sr Product Designer to join the PDF Spaces incubation team within Document Cloud. You’ll work on one of the most ambitious new experiences in Acrobat reimagining how people interact with, navigate, and get value from documents using AI.
The Document Cloud Design team has a strong legacy of innovation. It was honored in TIME’s Best Inventions in 2023 for Liquid Mode and in 2024 for Acrobat’s AI Assistant. Fast Company also recognized it as one of the Top Most Innovative Companies in Applied AI. If you’re passionate about working at the frontier of what a document can be, we’d love to hear from you.
This is early-stage, exploratory work that actually ships. You’ll be defining the interaction model, not completing a pre-established one. This involves making decisions in uncertain situations, building prototypes to gain insights, and working closely with research and engineering to determine what is feasible and best for users.
What you’ll do
Explore. Work in ambiguous, early-stage problem spaces generating concepts, stress-testing assumptions, and finding the most promising directions before a path is clear.
Build. Develop sketches, end-to-end flows, prototypes, and polished UI - adapting fidelity to what the problem needs, not what’s comfortable.
Simplify. Translate complex, AI-powered capabilities into experiences that feel natural and crafted for everyday document users.
Champion. Develop a strong point of view grounded in user research and data, and advocate for it clearly, even when the direction is still forming.
Collaborate. Partner closely with research, product management, engineering, and content strategy to ensure alignment on direction and progress rapidly from concept to testable experience.
Influence. Drive alignment through compelling storytelling and present build rationale confidently to partners and leadership.
Elevate. Uphold a high bar for designcraft and contribute to the growth of teammates around you.
What you need to succeed
6+ years of product design experience, or a related degree with equivalent practical experience.
A portfolio demonstrating strong UX and visual design across responsive, multi-surface experiences.
Experience working in early-stage, exploratory, or 0-to-1 product spaces - where the problem is as undefined as the solution.
Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to make progress without a clear brief or complete information.
Strong visual and interaction craft, with the range to move from rough explorations to polished, shippable UI.
Proficiency in Figma and ability to convey ideas through prototyping in Figma, Cursor, etc.
Strong problem-solving skills and solid grounding in core UX principles and methodologies.
Empathy for both customers and teammates, with a process rooted in listening and understanding.
Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas verbally and in writing, at all levels of the organization.
Familiarity with AI/ML-powered product experiences.
Preferred Accessibility Design Skills:
Experience designing accessible and inclusive interfaces for people with disabilities.
Understanding of applying WCAG conformance criteria in design, specifically testing comps, wireframes, and prototypes for accessibility standards.
Accessibility certifications CPACC, WAS, CPWA, or ADS from the IAAP preferred.
How to apply
Please submit your resume and portfolio. We are particularly interested in seeing:
Work from early-stage or exploratory projects: how you navigated ambiguity and brought others along.
How direct customer research built your design decisions.
Examples of range: rough thinking alongside polished execution.
How you’ve partnered cross-functionally and moved work forward without a fully defined path.
